follow a rookie writing his first novel

About me

Hi, my name is Martin White.

I run a hypnotherapy school, which combines hypnotherapy, NLP and shamanism.

I am already a published author, although the book I co-edited was written 10 years ago and was non-fiction: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Spellcaster-Seven-Ways-Effective-Magic/dp/0738706345/ref=sr_1_8?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1333205300&sr=1-8

Like many people, I always wanted to try my hand at writing a novel – hence this site.  My main interests are shamanism, the occult, magic, divination and anthropology; and the novel will likely have one or more of these themes running through it.

  1. A little bit of blog advice, if I may.

I don’t see your RSS feed in your sidebar or your footer. RSS is how a lot of people follow blogs, and the feed is there (I just subscribed to it and it works fine), but it’s probably a good idea to advertise it a bit.

    • erm thats because as a techno-luddite I have no idea what an RSS feed is….:-(

    • I’ve added a button that looks suspiciously like the right one – is it?

      • Yup, that’s it. RSS is a great way to keep track of blogs (or other news sites). I use a “reader” called Newsfox (which is an add-on to Firefox). When I open Newsfox, I hit one button and it checks all the blogs that I have listed, and shows me which ones updated since the last time I checked (including the post titles, and either a summary or all the text of the posts).

As I say, you had the RSS feed all the time (WordPress creates it automatically — all blog programs do), but it’s always good to let people know it’s there.

  2. Hi – I’d like to nominate you for the One Lovely Blog Award.
Do pop over and check out my Fluffy Moments Page tomorrow and you will find the details.
